This Blog is dedicated to Lafuma and the Lafuma Sleeping Bag.
Who is Lafuma and whyare we so high on their products? Lafuma is a French-based corporation started in the 30's by two brothers who resided in the Frenc alps. These men thought there was a need for specialty outdoor gear that used the latest in innovative technology to improve access and comfort while spending time outside. While the technology has changed just a bit since the 30's, Lafuma's focus on innovation has not. Currently their line include Lafuma sleeping bags, backpacks, shoes, and furniture.
While we think most of the Lafuma products are well built, the focus of this blog is on the Lafuma sleeping bag.
Lafuma bags come in three main types and costs. Their down sleeping bags vary from $120 for the Lafuma Warm N Light 600g bag to $300 USD for the Lafuma Pro 950g down sleeping bag. The synthetic line ranges from $70 for the LAfuma X 600 Lady to $120 for the Lafuma X 950. The camping line is most economical, with their low end Lafuma Yellowstone Light sleeping bag coming in at $50 and the Lafuma Yellowstone priced at $65.
Innovation
As mentioned above, the Lafuma sleeping bag is steeped in innovation. Whether you need a camping sleeping bag or a lightweight sleeping bag to carry in your pack on your next adventure, Lafuma has what you need. Some of their most attractive features include packability - that is the ability of the sleeping bag to compact down and fit in your pack. Most Lafuma sleeping bags will easily fit inside a moderately sized backpack with plenty of room for other essentials. Other notable features include hoods, full side zipper with a draft tube, and a very effective shoulder collar. One of the coolest things they have is their exclusive Ultramicro fiber insulation - which wicks away moisture and keeps you warm even when the bag or your pack get wet.
Look for more articles to come in the next few weeks reviewing specific bags.
